Janine van der Walt (Human)
Director & Occupational Therapist
I am a qualified Occupational Therapist with a special interest in hand therapy, vocational assessment and rehabilitation. I graduated from University of the Free State in 2015, completed my Workwell-certification in 2017 and obtained my Post Graduate Diploma in Hand Therapy from the University of Pretoria in 2019.
My fascination with the structure and intricacies of the hand, both vital in various vocational and daily activities, led me to become a specialist. I believe that hands are a universal symbol of purposeful interaction with your environment, people and participation in meaningful occupation.
While working in vocational rehabilitation, (assisting patients with return to work), it has become evident that patients’ purpose has a high association with their work. This makes me all the more focused on crafting a safe return-to-work strategy for clients, so they can reach their full potential not only in their participation in activities of daily living, but in their vocation as well.
